Our Son, Ryder Christian McGovern born May 31, 2010. He is truly a gift from God!
In the year since Em has passed away, we have learned a considerable amount about organ donation as well as in the fight to prevent drownings. We have so much more to learn but we have a passion to make this our life long mission.
During this year we have...
We have talked to different local moms groups, shared our story on behalf of The Transplant Foundation twice, shared our story on behalf of Life Alliance at Broward General Hospital, attended the Organ Donor Recognition Ceremony, a picnic at Lion Country Safari with other donor families, Holiday Party for Transplant recipients, Raised money and walked in The Miracle Walk to help Transplant Recipients, joined the Broward County Drowning Prevention Task Force, shared our story with the directors of all local pools on behalf of Swim Central, attended April Pools Day~held annually by Swim Central, discussed the importance of water safety to expectant parents classes and finally gave birth to our son.
With each experience we learn how important what we are trying to do truly is. There are people dying each day due to preventable drownings and even more people dying due to the lack of registered organ donors.
We have many plans for the upcoming year, we look forward to see what God has planned for us. We wish that this tragedy NEVER happened to us but since it has, we are DETERMINED to make a difference.
Thank you for your continued Encouragement and Prayers, we will take all we can. :)
Thank you Again from the bottom of our hearts,
Shannon and Cassie McGovern
